Barbara, or “Red” as we call her, is a friendly cow who loves her hay and carrot treats. She is usually first to come running for our routine treats which we and our kids love to hand-feed to our Highlands. Barbara moves through yards and crush smoothly without fuss. With her horns it is important to be patient while she makes her way forward through race, crush and loading ramps. Barbara is not halter trained nor trained to hand-brushing.
Barbara is 6 years old and is a proven breeder with an idyllic mothering nature. Barbara produced her first heifer calf in Oct-2021, and second heifer calf in Dec-2022. Her fertility is proven, and she has many productive years ahead of her as Highland cows often still produce calves to at least 15 years of age.
Available from 30 April 2023.
We farm regeneratively using biodynamics, a beyond organic approach which builds a balanced farm ecosystem. This creates the conditions for optimal animal health providing balanced nutrition and supporting healthy immunity.
Prospective buyers are welcome to come and visit our farm and meet the animals in person.
We are more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
Please note also:
